Dog Bite Injuries

New York State has the "One Bite Rule" where dogs can literally get one bite before their owners are liable for subsequent attacks. Therefore, if you are bitten, you must prove that the dog that attacked you previously bit, bared its teeth, snarled or lunged at you or someone else prior to injuring you. Certain dog breeds, such as pit bulls, rottweilers and others are exempt from this rule.
